The properties of blackbody radiation can be described by two laws, one of which is Wien’s Law.

Wien’s Law can be simplified by the mathematical equation shown.

A blackbody is one that absorbs all the electromagnetic radiation that comes in contact with it.

Stefan’s Law states that the total energy radiated from a blackbody is proportional to the fourth power of its temperature.

In 1964 it was discovered that there was a constant static noise within the universe that had a blackbody spectrum with an equivalent temperature of 3.5 K. This is known as background radiation or CMBR.
